Animals Have Hearts Too is a small but mighty nonprofit with a big mission: to protect, rescue, and uplift dogs in need. Based in Lorena, Texas, we believe that every animal deserves a chance at love, safety, and a forever home. Whether it’s pulling dogs from overcrowded public shelters, helping families keep their pets during tough times, or finding the perfect match through adoption—our heart is in it all.

We’re built on compassion, fueled by community, and driven by the belief that no dog should ever be forgotten, unwanted, or unloved.

Here, they are nurtured back to health, restored in spirit, and prepared for the joyful journey to their forever homes.

  • To adopt, simply fill out our adoption application and we’ll contact you to chat about which pet might be the best match. We ensure each animal is going to a loving, safe environment.

  • Most of our animals come from local shelters, the streets, or are surrendered by families who can no longer care for them. Many are saved from euthanasia and given a second chance at life.

  • Absolutely! Fostering is a vital part of our rescue. It gives animals a safe, loving place to heal and grow until their forever home is found. We provide supplies—you provide the love!

  • There are so many ways to help! You can donate, volunteer, sponsor a pet, share our posts on social media, or join us at events. Every bit makes a big difference in saving lives.
